When I got serious about being healthy and loosing weight my brother was sending me motivational posters. The one below still sticks out in my head. It made me realise that every step i take is one closer to me goal.
My Coach Missa posted a challenge on her facebook page to put up your favorite poster, and have friends like my picture. My picture won the most votes!! The prize was a Turbo Fire Started Pack!! I have been itching to try turbo fire since I only have the greatest hits DVD which is just a tease. Now I have the brand new starter pack!!
My coach has helped me become a better me! I can not wait to try the started pack!!!

4 Ideas for things to do with scraps: Felt

Felt: This is the last post in the 4 things to do with scraps series. This idea is one I have been thinking about for a long time I love mustaches!!! I have been thinking about having a Mustache bash and this is a party favor I can give out!

Supplies: Felt , kebab stick or dowel, glue gun, glue, paper, pen.

Step 1: Make a template for you stache. It only needs to be half, that way it will be even on both sides.

Step 2: Fold your felt in half and cut around template. You will need 2 so make sure you have enough scraps to do so.
 2 Mustaches
Step 3: Put a little glue where you kebab stick will go and place stick in.
Step 4: You have to work kind of fast here so the glue does not dry but fill the one side with glue all the way to the tips.
Step 5: Place other half on top and press together , please be careful the glue is really hot!!
You have done it! Now you will always have a Mustache!
Had to try it on the family

Hope you liked the series! The next one I'm thinking 4 things to do with a Trader Joe's bag! In my opinion Mustaches are very Romantic!!

April scarf challenge.

I am challenging my self to wear a scarf every day of the month of April. I have a lot of them and sometimes feel i don't get the most use out of them so here is a way i can! I have bought some second hand and brand new, I have also been given some from family . Scarves can brighten up a shirt or bad hair day. Here is how i wear them !
April 1, 2012 I wear this style the most when I am short on time and have messy hair! It can be done with all types of scarves!! I also added a clip in flower.
April 2, 2012 I am having a busy day and need my hair colored badly so this helps !!
April 3, 2012 Funny story about todays scarf. I have still not done my hair :/ Just been super busy and if i have a choice between working out or doing my hair, ill take the workout!! Wait did Ijust say that?  Well good thing i had my scarf on today! My mom wanted to go to the store but not alone. I had no problem with that, I needed bread and eggs! So she pulls up, and I noticed it right away. I get in the car and ask her. "Going hatless??" My amazing mom is going through Chemo right now so she has no hair! It poped in to my head! Im wearing a SCARF!! So I fixed her up and we went to the store. So glad I had it on ! Hope the pic is not too small.
April 4, 2012  I was crazy busy today and almost forgot to post my pics!! I have recently changed my life and have been loosing weight. My mom gave me this awesome jacket and 6 months ago i would not have been  able to wear it... It feels so great to wear things i like not just what fits. The scarf i have had for quite a few years i love it because it is warm long and a great shade of purple!! This is also one of my favorite ways to wear a scarf. It is a simple tie knot but looks great with bulky and thin scarves :)

April 5, 2012 I was so lazy today!! Came home a watched supernatural till dinner!! My scarf today im wearing like a bandana. I STILL need to do my hair!! so again it is a way to distract from my ever growing black hole!! Josh calls it my "house wife " look ! Oh and my face is covered cus I look bad!!

April 6,2012 Today's scarf is a fun scarf that I thrifted from a parking lot sale! I bought 5 scarves for $1!! Great deal!! The way I wore it today can be used by any longer rectangular scarf. This one happens to be really long. Hope you like! ( sorry for the blurry pic :/)

April 7,2012 Today's style is kind of a funny story between my mom and I. We watch Bonanza every afternoon, and I mentioned that the men wear neckerchiefs a lot. One day I told her I'm going to start wearing them, and I have!  while I was taking the pictures ( I didn't really like the pictures) Alexi one of our cats was casually laying on the couch..... So I put it on her!! She is a guest model today. Her picture was way better then mine.

April 8, 2012 Happy Easter!!! Today was a great day!! Lots of family Lots of food and Lots of fun!!! We decided it would be fun to wear big hats on Easter! So my mom, daughter, and I wore our big hats and I wore a new thrifted black and white polka dot scarf. We went on half off day so I only paid .99 cents for it!!!

April 9,2012 today was a lazy day after all the egg hunting and what no. I didnt really feel like doing my hair so I put it in a pony and wrapped a scarf around my head. This one was also thrifted with the polkadot scarf also .99 cents!!

April 10, 2012 Busy day today and stressful one, this scarf dressed up my plain tee. Sometimes accessories make you feel better :) Espically when they are so pretty!!
April 11, 2012 Today i almost forgot about my scarf picture!! I did it just before bed and was feelin silly so I give you the " Hollywood " look.
April 12, 2012 We have a special guest today Emee my sweet little girl. I was getting ready to do my pictures and she says "I want to wear one too!!" So Here we are! She is so adorable. Behind us is our beautiful rose bush in bloom.

April 13,2012 ( Yesterdays pictures were actually taken today, it got a little warm out so we decided to move our scarves. I also did not take any pictures yesterday so it worked out.) Im calling these "scarfletts" Its a scarf but also a bracelet. Agreat way to use smaller scarves that you dont want to just put on your head. I will have some in my etsy store soon.

Somehow I am behind..... I will fill in the blanks tomorrow :)

April 16, 2012 Scarves don't always have to be worn just to keep hair back or just to keep you neck warm. The weather has been weird here, today it was warm and yesterday it was cool. So today i wore my scarf on my shirt!!

April 18, 2012 Getting warmer everyday here. Decided to wear an odd scarf its some sort of metallic fabric, gold, red, green and not comfortable on the skin. I'm not even sure where i got it from. It does make a nice bow though.

April 19, 2012 Busy day today. Warm again, so I needed a scarf that was going to be light but pretty also. This one worked because I could wipe my brow and look good all day. I used to wear this scarf a lot but I left it in my hubby's car and somehow grease got on it so I have to hide the spot.

4 Ideas for things to do with scraps: Paper

Paper: I have tons of paper scraps all colors ,patterns, sizes, and leftover shapes :) My best friend lives in Washington and i live in Arizona , I saw this as a great opportunity to make her a card!! i love making things and giving them like cards, it means just a little bit more :)
What i used: old Trader Joe's bag, paper scraps, a blank envelope, double sided tape, stickers, scissors , marker, and i used tape to seal the back before mailing .

Step 1. Cut the Trader Joe's bag so it will fit in the envelope. you want to cut it just a little smaller than the envelope so it will fit nicely.
Step 2. Have fun with you papers. this is a green sheet and a collage sheet that just fit together well.

Here is a better view. She is so cute :)
Step 3. play with stickers and other scraps. I happened to have a scrap of the TJ's bag that had a shoe on it and a sticker that said dance. Sometimes I think its fate!
Step 4. The inside. I usually put a blank piece of card stock on the inside to help make the card a little more stronger that way it can stand up. i also try to continue the theme inside so the whole card comes together.
Here is the card finished!
Another thing i like to do is add to the envelope so it goes with the card. this was some more scraps I put on the back to tie it all together.
Closer view.
I love making cards. They can be a quick gift from the heart or invites to a party. I still enjoy receiving cards in the mail. It makes you think... someone stopped and wrote me. I feel special.
Hope you liked this. The last idea in this series is felt. Its a fun one !!!
